The Old Malt House
Description:
We love chinese pole so are really excited to have invited the brilliantly talented special guest Edd Muir to teach not one, but two chinese pole workshops so you’ve no excuse to miss out!
With a wealth of experience in performing and teaching, Edd Muir will give you the skills and techniques needed to pull off awesome chinese pole moves, whatever your level – so get yourself down to the Pink Kitten studio on Sat 21st July for a workshop. Catch him whilst you can in this rarely taught discipline!
The Workshop – Introduction to Chinese Pole
The workshop at 12pm is the Introduction to Chinese Pole which will cover beginner level moves, so if you have never poled before or don’t have that much strength, then this is the one for you! You will cover the basics with some climbing, holding moves on the pole and simple inverting. Since the chinese pole is covered in rubber, it makes gripping the pole much easier and is good for people starting out on their pole journey. For the pole dancers among you – Chinese pole is a brilliant compliment to your pole dancing as with the extra grip, you find it helps you to master those tricky and scary pole moves.
What to Wear
The chinese pole we will be using is covered in rubber which allows for grip whilst moving on the pole. Participants should wear comfortable clothing, often 2 layers ( leggings/ tights and jeans) is more protective. Jeans or tough material trousers are essential to prevent rubber burn and get the most from the session – tracksuit bottoms are not suitable. It is useful to have a leotard on or a t-shirt that will tuck into your trousers and to also bring along a long sleeved top. It’s important to bring a pair of rubber soled lace up shoes appropriate for working on the pole, e.g. Converse style is ideal – NOT thick soled sports trainers.
