LEARN HOW TO POLE DANCE
Pole dancing is the most fun you will ever have exercising! What's more,
with good teaching it can be picked up surprisingly quickly. By the
end of the beginner's course most students are doing things they never
imagined would be possible in that time. By the last lesson, most students
can glide around the pole elegantly, do several impressive spins, maybe
even climb up the pole and generally pull off some very sexy dance moves
too.
Unlike many other pole courses, there is a big showgirl influence in
Pink Kitten classes. The first principle of being a showgirl is that
if you hold yourself well and confidently, you will look good, no matter
how simple a move you are doing. We think this applies to dancing and
life in general.
Before beginning a course take a look at our FAQ
page to make sure you are correctly prepared and if you are feeling
a little nervous or uncertain, this should put your mind at rest. The
classes are taught in a really supportive environment, and unlike many
dance or fitness lessons, the class size is small, so you get plenty
of individual teaching time. There will be two or three poles depending
on the venue and the very maximum class size will be eight to ten people
depending on poles, but often it is much less than this.
NOTE: If you want to try out pole dancing before you commit
to a course we run free pole dance taster workshops in Bath and Cheltenham.
Exercise Benefits
Pole dancing works the whole body. It tones legs, stomach, bottom and
arms as well as building pectorals to make breasts perkier! It also
improves posture and flexibility. Pole dancing is easier to stick to
than going to the gym as it's such good fun. You can also burn as many
calories on a good pole session as you would in the gym.
Beginners Pole Course
This course really is for the complete beginner; you don't
have to be fit or have any dance experience to take part. The course
consists of four classes of an hour and a half each.
In this course you will learn showgirl posture, how to strut around
the pole, sexy dance moves and poses, six different spins and how climb
the pole. Each class begins with an energising warm up and ends with
stretches to improve your flexibility. By the end of the course you
will be able to link all of you new skills together to perform a sexy
and impressive pole routine.
Intermediate Pole Course
This course is designed to follow on from the beginner's course.
Because we have time to give students individual tuition, students can
choose which areas of pole dancing they want to progress in. Strength
will have built up considerably now, so some may choose to learn to
flip upside down and then learn more complex aerial moves, or climb
the pole and then perform tricks from the top of the pole. Others may
want to learn more complex spins or work on dance moves and learn floor
work.
All intermediate students are encouraged to start to build there own
routines and there is also an emphasis on learning to perform and have
stage presence as well as just dancing. Because we get time for individual
tuition, everyone works at their own level and you can keep doing as
many intermediate courses as you want. Some of our more long standing
intermediate students now enter pole competitions and perform pole displays
in nightclubs.
